Each chapter president and state director leader has the responsibility of leading their chapter, which includes helping grow membership. Ways to do that include:

  • keep the State Association up-to-date on openings and personnel changes in schools facilities departments
  • reach out to non-member districts and encourage active membership
  • personally invite new DOFs and not-so-new DOFs to chapter meetings, offer a ride or a connection at the event/meeting to network and learn the latest compliance issues
  • stress membership benefits and value to members and district administrators
  • reach out to potential affiliate members and suggest DOFs bring one of their staff with them to meetings to foster their membership growth within the affiliate membership category

Members of the SFA/SFMI Executive Committees serve as liaisons to the chapters in their electoral districts to support these efforts.
