Position: Director of Facilities III, 8 hrs/day, 12 mos/yr

Responsibilities: Supervisory experience required. Working knowledge and experience in the operations and maintenance of all buildings and grounds in a school district setting required. Supervises, plans, and schedules a comprehensive, preventative maintenance program for all facilities and mechanical systems. Evaluates, authorizes and issues work orders, schedules and coordinates both in-house trades/staff and outside contracted services, requisitioning of supplies and materials and inspects buildings and related systems for the general condition and repair, maintenance and safety. Ensures that inspections and reports are completed for federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Assists in the formulation of policies related to buildings and grounds maintenance. Discusses capital projects, maintenance, repair and operational needs with school administrators and works with construction managers, architects and/or engineers to develop, implement and complete capital improvement projects and other long-term plans. Supervision is exercised over subordinate supervisors, in-house/contract grounds and maintenance staff, and appropriate clerical personnel. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college with a Bachelor’s Degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture and three (3) years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, or construction management, one (1) year of which must be at a supervisory level; Or Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college with an Associate’s Degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture and five (5) years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work or construction management, one (1) year of which must be at a supervisory level; Or Seven (7) years full-time paid experience in School Facilities Maintenance, General Building Construction, Building Maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one (1) year of which must have been at a supervisory level.

Benefits and Salary: Professional working environment, supportive parents and community, salary per Shenendehowa District Administrative Support Staff (DASS) booklet $90,000 – $95,000/yr
