Director of Facilites I: ThePulaski Academy and Central School

Position: DOF I

Salary: Commensurate with Experience 

Qualifications: Civil Service Position

Reports to: Business Administrator 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises staff and participates in daily preventative maintenance and custodial activities
  • Directs, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinate personnel and performs on-the-job training of custodial and maintenance staff as needed
  • Performs minor electrical repairs
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment including HVAC and electrical systems; may coordinate with vendor for non-routine issues
  • Investigate various complaints and takes appropriate action to reduce repetition
  • Keeps informed of latest trends and developments in school operations and maintenance; implements where possible
  • Participates in the selection, training and development of subordinate staff
  • Monitors expenses to ensure budgetary limits are not exceeded
  • Tracks inventory and manages the purchasing needs of the department
  • Develops, schedules and manages a preventive maintenance program designed to retain buildings, grounds, equipment in safe operating condition
  • Manages building system, access, etc.
  • Uses a variety of tools and operates a variety of motor and other equipment related to building and grounds maintenance and repair
  • Resposible for the maintenance of school grounds including playgrounds, parking areas, and athletic fields
  • Swimming pool maintenance 
  • Serves as school pesticide representative 

Requirements: Must hold Civil Service Title 

Preferred Qualifications

  • AHERA LEA Certification
  • Training in Integrated Pest Management, PESH, Building Management, and Hazardous Waste
