Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations

The Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations teaches building operators the basic principles of energy efficiency awareness and practices in commercial buildings. This course is for facilities personnel who are new to building operations, not directly involved in equipment maintenance, and those in management and supervisory roles.

Utilizing core Building Operator Certification® (BOC) concepts, this training focuses on efficient operations and strengthens building optimization skills. The training is intended to complement other on-the-job training and experience and to provide a general awareness of building operations fundamentals from an energy efficiency perspective. 

Classes run from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the following dates:

• Tuesday, March 8 - Part I: Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Overview

• Thursday, March 10 - Part II: HVAC Fundamentals

• Tuesday, March 22 - Part III: Lighting Fundamentals

• Thursday, March 24 - Part IV: Energy Conservation Opportunities

• Tuesday, April 5 - Part V: Indoor Environmental Quality

• Thursday, April 7 - Part VI: Measuring and Benchmarking Energy Performance and Part VII: Putting it all Together
