Association Staff

Kathleen Van De Loo
Executive Director

It has been a privilege to serve as NYSSFA’s Executive Director since 2001, when we were called the Association for Superintendents of School Buildings and Grounds (SBGA).

I have worked with Association leadership on a variety of key initiatives over the years, including the first (and second) “It Takes a Professional” campaign, the creation of the School Facilities Management Institute (SFMI), the passage of the Director of Facilities Law establishing a statewide Civil Service exam process for facilities directors, the development of associate and bachelor’s degree programs specifically designed for New York State school facilities management professionals, and the development and launch of our third website as we work to keep pace with all the tech world has to offer us. I was also privileged to be part of the NYSSFA when it welcomed its first female president, and never prouder than to see our members jump into action to serve their schools during those very challenging Covid quarantine years.

I serve as the Association’s team lead and oversee governance, advocacy, Civil Service matters, and the Pathway to the Profession initiatives. My work focuses on strategic leadership, legislative advocacy, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and advancing professional development opportunities that support school facilities professionals across New York State.

Beverly Seinberg
Communications/Member Services

Before officially becoming part of the NYSSFA team, Bev spent several years combing through the news media for articles to include in the weekly Wednesday Wake Up newsletter’s “In the News” section.

For the past year, she has served as editor of the newsletter and loves to feature the latest news about our members and chapters, so send yours along!

Bev also crafts most of the written communications you receive from us, from legislative updates to reminders about registering for events. She is also the friendly voice at the other end of the NYSSFA phone line, making sure all inquiries reach the right team member.

Scott Booth
Finance Manager

Scott has also been working with the NYSSFA for many years, overseeing all things financial — depositing checks, paying bills, keeping the books and reporting regularly to Association leadership.

Any association’s success is dictated by their fiscal ingenuity, and this feat requires much more than totaling money coming in and subtracting money going out. With Scott’s expertise, honed through more than years of experience, viable budgets are approved, accounts are kept in the black and board members are kept abreast of every penny.

Erin Ryan
Creative Director

Erin has more than 20 years of experience as a graphic designer, producing attention-getting print and digital materials for nonprofit organizations and businesses of all sizes. Her areas of expertise include web design, membership materials, event collateral and promotional pieces.

Erin works hard to ensure the final product isn’t just artistically creative, but that it contains messaging and design that can be carried across multiple formats to help stretch budgets further.
