Annual Advocacy Day
One of our signature advocacy initiatives is our Annual Advocacy Day in Albany. During this important event, representatives from all 18 NYSSFA chapters across the state gather to meet directly with their local lawmakers. This coordinated advocacy effort allows us to:
- Educate legislators about the critical role of school facilities professionals
- Present unified positions on pending legislation
- Share real-world perspectives from facilities managers across diverse districts
- Build lasting relationships with decision-makers
- Advocate for funding, resources, and policies that support safe, healthy learning environments
Year-Round Representation
Beyond our Annual Advocacy Day, NYSSFA works with legislative counsel to maintain an ongoing presence in Albany, tracking legislation, participating in hearings, and ensuring school facilities considerations are represented in policy discussions throughout the year.
