10:15-11:15am Critical Issues Roundtable I: Managing Your School Facilities Budget vs Facilities Needs
The State budget and its appropriation for education aid vary from year to year, also varying school facilities department budgets. Learn how to develop a maintenance budget and plan that can weather change. Also, learn how to use data-driven information to make informed purchasing decisions and advocate for your school district’s maintenance, purchasing and construction needs.
11:30am-12:30pm Critical Issues Roundtable II: How to Collaborate with Your School Community on the Plan, Design and Completion of School District Projects
Interactive panel discussion on successful approaches to planning and managing projects when your school district’s needs exceed your means. Learn the importance of communicating with stakeholders on priorities, the art of compromise and the cost of a project delay.
12:30-1:30pm Lunch at the University Club
1:45-3:00pm NYSED Office of Facilities Planning Update
In the afternoon, Rosanne Groff, and her team from the Department’s Office of Facilities Planning will provide timely updates on policy, procedural and regulatory matters.
